At Kayanase, we are an ecological restoration authority and a native plant and seed business. You can find us on the Six Nations Reserve, near Brantford, Ontario. Our current greenhouse was built in 2010 and is nearly 55,000 square feet. It features a retractable roof so that we can adapt to different weather conditions and has an attached 9000 square foot warehouse and office building for administrative and storage needs.

A bit about what we do…

Our organization is about restoring Mother Earth. We do this by collecting native seeds, which we then process, propagate, plant, monitor, and eventually bring back healthful biodiversity to the land. We have a science-based approach to our work, backed by traditional ecological knowledge.

We have a vital role as a native plant nursery…

We are proud to see the plants we grow used in a range of conservation and restoration projects. From urban gardens to large-scale ecological restorations, we aim to create, enhance, and restore native habitats to their natural glory.

With a variety of services offered…

In addition to our restoration work, we also promote the production of source-identified plants and seeds. We collect native seeds locally to conserve plant genetics specific to our area, preserving our ecological heritage. Working with a wide variety of clients, we partner with everyone from conservation authorities and municipalities to private landowners and educational institutions.

At the Kayanase Greenhouse, we work to create ecologically sustainable landscapes while promoting environmental awareness. From tree planting to invasive plant species management, we partner with clients who want to bring Mother Earth back to her historical ecologically diverse state.
